Leaving on a jetplane!

Be careful what you wish for! Today I leave for my book tour. I am so excited but still swimming from last week, which was by far, the biggest week of my life! All the media, the film's air date, meeting so many new friends and posse members... but most of all, reading your emails and posts. The amount of positive healing energy, passion, and wisdom coming from you could run a power plant for a year! These amazing stories fill my soul-well with abundance and light. YOU are the everyday heros and (s)heros! YOU are grace and fire. This silly thing called canSer has met its feisty match, and we (Brian and I and the amazing staff we are putting together) are going to work tirelessly to appraoch this beasty from a new angle.

Perhaps we will overcome, or perhaps we will learn to manage and live with it, but the key word is LIVE. I am here NOW, writing this blog, you are here right NOW reading this blog and WHILE we are doing that we are surviving and LIVING. No one can take that away from us - no doctor, no GOD, no freaked out family member or frightened friend. Expiration dates belong on milk cartoons, not human beings, so gently remove yours and get back to the business of living. In my mind, I won't die, I'll just turn the page on a new chapter and a new ADVENTURE! Yahooo!

But back to now and dreaming and conjuring.....

I spent the weekend in my pajamas shaking my head, smiling and crying pure streams of joy. Friday turned my 36th year on this mama love planet and what a birthday it was! It was a great lesson in looking around at the abundance I DO have. Since canSer, I always blow out the candles and wish for the same thing (yeah, even though I'm now the poster gal for living WITH it, at birthday candle time I slip and inner-whisper the remission word). When I don't get my wish, I sometimes wonder where they go. Do they get caught in some big cosmic lint trap? Nope, ah ha moment: they get answered but not in the way I expect. A friend once bonked me on the head when I was feeling sorry for myself (over a jack ass boy, and I mean jack ass), her words pierced me like a foot long biopsy needle. If you worry so much about the train you just missed you won't see the one in front of you with the doors wide open (air conditioning blasting and a cushy seat).

So the doors are open and the trip is the universal inward bound. You've asked for the destination and dang ya'll have some good ideas! The national posse has spoken and our plans plans for the future are beginning to crystalize. To start with, we will be putting together FEARLESS weekends! I spoke with some of my trapeze buddies and we just have to find a time in the schedule. So yes, let's fly! Some of you may love that idea, others may want something more tame so Posse weekends and bootcamps (which are more like creative, detoxing healing fests) will also be offered. If you work at a center that can provide space for us, email asap.

But what's really getting Brian and I excited is our plan to raise money for a Crazy Sexy Scholarship fund! Persuading insurance companies to pay for alternative care will take time (and a new president), though it is important that we all work together to voice our collective needs. But while they are dorking around, we will be raising money to sponsor folks for up to a year. Our dream is to provide the finances for the treatment that helps you the most. Accupuncture, nutritionist, yoga, etc. Each of us is different, each healing path carved by the specific patient. I am so excited about this I can't sleep! If you know peeps with DEEP pockets, give us a shout out.

Ok, off to the airport! Please come and visit me on tour. Check out crazysexytour.com for details and if you are in NYC on Oct. 12th I will be showing the film, doing a signing and chatting at The NY Open Center. Go to their website and sign up, it will be a great night.

Peace and veggies,
Kris

I am still on a 'high' after seeing CSC...I can't imagine how you feel! I’ve told EVERYONE about your little movie, in fact, I they’re probably sick of me talking about it by now =) The book tour must be daunting, but I am sooooo thrilled that you're coming to our part of the country (MN)! I'm gathering my friends and colleagues and we’ll be there cheering you on, girl!

Let the fun begin,

Hey gang! Scarfing down a quick veggie bite to eat and a little break before the next interview. This tour is only a month but I will be back out soon. I wish we could all get together and HANG OUT! Hopefully TLC will re-air the show. If you have a moment, check out our NEWS page on the crazy sexy website and send those folks a little note demanding another viewing. UNLESS, of course you really want to see a re-run of the same ole same ole. DOH! Did I say that? Naughty Kris. :0

Hi Kris!

I'm 36, was dx in April 07 with stage IV colon....and mom of a 1 year old. I have not let canser get the best of me, especially with my little girl, she keeps me on my toes.

When are you coming to downtown Chicago (I know you'll be in Rosemont soon, but that's not Chicago...)

Hope to meet you some days

Hey Kris,

I am in the UK, but my mum forwarded me your details from the States. Having watched your trailer and bought your book, I want you to know what a fantastically strong lady I believe you are. However strong, I know there are moments when it hits you hard. Share those moments too - so we all know you're human, and so are we. I am in the process of writing a book right now, and would be over the moon if at some point you could comment. Whatcha say?

Okay I was blown away, well wait more than blown away I am addicted. I think I've watched the documentary on Tivo like 20 times since it aired!!! It's only made me want more. I admire your strength and willingness to venture into any environment. I am jealous that your spirit flies so high. I have only my experiences and present circle of knowledge I swim around in and seriously I feel like I know you or that I see myself in you. I want all that you know and more. You probably don't feel like grand all the time, but girl let me tell you, once you open your own personal blog, beleive me it'll expand not only your mind. But no really, you are amazing and generous with so much of yourself. Please keep digging deep and filling every inch of your being with something new. Hope you come to a town near me!

Blessings

Kris,

I am reading your book, how did you get in my head, Girl?? I emailed TLC to reair the show, and I'm getting everyone I know to lobby them too. So maybe collectively we can influence their programming.

Does a lodge on a lake in Maine with a big fireplace sound appealing to you for a weekend retreat spot??? Email me, Cowgirl, let's round up the posse!!

Kris,
I watched the documentary on TLC. Made my husband watch it too. He has Stage 4 GBM Brain Cancer. He didn't want to watch this chick show, but eneded up loving it and learning that he wasn't alone in this canser world. So, just to let you know that this crazy sexy canser spouse relly needed to see and hear your story. It is a story of empowerment and hope. Thank you so much. I'll look for you in Raleigh, NC. Good Luck and Godspeed. Julie

Hi Kris!

Best of luck on your book tour. i wish I could be there in MPLS.......

If you ever want to experience dog sledding in the Northwoods of Minnesota, I'm your chick! It's in my alternative canser-healing protocol...along with the acupuncture, massage, yoga, coffee enemas, juicing.....and dogs! woohoo!

Nothing like skimming over the snow in the silence of the woods, with the only sound being the jingle of the dog collars and the runners shushing on the snow. Pure peace.

Then afterward there's your choice of woodburning sauna or hot tub under the stars.....or both!

peace, emily the juice chick

Good night all!

Will blog again tomorrow but I just wanted to say thanks for your support and advice and I wanna try and visit all of you! A little break to cut DVD extras in Oct, a trip to the Lance Armstrong foundation and a DETOX center in Nov. and then I'll be working again. My publishers can't pay for the tour beyond Oct. but if signings and screening expenses are covered, I'll be there!

Lora lee- Good luck writing your book sister. Buy a kitchen timer, that's what I did and I would get up till it dinged. Oni taught me that and it works!

Sarah- I have 2 signings in CT. Check out the tour schedule on my site and vist if you can.

CURE event info will be up on my blog, don't know why they don't have it on their site. Hmm. Will be showingt the film, doing a Q&A and possibly a signing.

Tina- great meeting you tonight!

xox all - off to bed.

Kris, you and Brian are inspiring for so many reasons. My husband and I just watched your film, and we both just cracked up and started crying at the moment when you both are in the exam room awaiting the final word. Brian is so much like my husband...unconditional, peaceful, whole, present. We couldn't help but really 'get' that moment between you two.

Thank you so much for sharing your journeys in such a candid way, and for honoring the cancer journey of the women and their families in your film and those everywhere. The perspective is refreshing...like lemonade. Speaking of... have you met Gayle Zinda? She might be a cool person for you to know. I just read her book (she has the most amazing story) and was mesmerized - similarly to yours.

Thanks again - your story does the heart good.

Hugs-

Tina

Kris, I was fascinated by your documentary on TLC -- well done!

I live in WA State and my DH and I both have neat alternative health care options with our insurance companies - we are both government workers, on different programs.

I'd recommend that folks who want change, put your energy toward making changes in your current state.

Once this gets to the federal level, I really don't have any hope that a president can do anything, despite the campaign promises.

You are in my prayers!
