How do I top that?

Hi loves,

First of all I was so moved (once again) by your gracious emails and blog posts yesterday. Thank you friends. I have to say I was pretty scared to do that show, as you know it was intense and I had no idea how it would turn out. In the end, I am VERY proud. Meeting Randy was one of the best moments in my life. He is so generous to have let us glimpsed his important life.
Let's all do our best to remember the pearls he shared. Let your kids paint on the walls, and while they are at it, paint too.

I gotta say, I get so excited when I see how willing and how curious you all are. Stay curious, be your own detectives and advocates. Life is too short to get lost in the small mind. We ALL need to return to the house of health in some way. What is your way? What do you need to do to live a life free of inner and outer pain? And if you know, why aren't you doing it? For me, the first thing that leaps to my throat is usually the right anwer. I know what I need to do to stay strong and healthy because I plan on checking out a half a click past 90 (like my wicked cool granma did). Luckily, my oncologist agrees that that's a good number for me (he better, I got us backstage passes for Springsteen in November)! LOL

So once again, what is your thing? Do it now. Life will never wait for you and if you think it will you will wake up pretty disappointed one day. Though we've been chatting an awful lot about diet this past week, diet is only one spoke in your wheel. You can put 100% living and organic food into a deeply depressed body and see no results. For me, when I'm off in either my mind or my spirit my body takes a hit. I feel weak or I get injuries. It usually means that I am holding onto something stubbornly. Let go Kris. Let go.

Planting good thoughts, healing prayers and self honoring intensions for each of you...

Love,
Kris

Ps. Have you seen the AWESOME "Good Stuff" section of the website? Check it out! So many cool people have donated things for you and there is lots more coming. Jackies hats are in too! Next stop: THE FORUM! Yes, within the next week or so ya'll will be able to chat with each other too. Just don't forget little ole me out here on the blog. Have a sunny and VIBRANT day inside and out.

Crazy Sexy Oprah

I have been soooo patient but now that the word is out - by the Queen herself - it's safe for me to spill the (sprouted) beans. I will be on Oprah this Monday the 22nd. Please tune in if you can. It was one of the wildest experiences of my life, out-of-body to be exact. Also on the show is the VERY wise and inspirational professor Randy Pausch and the AWESOME Dr. Mehmet Oz. Randy is a teacher, and I mean that in a very spiritual way. As I said, he is a professor but his knowledge runs to the central vein of the human spirit. Listen to him, he may not be with us long.....

It is intense, so be prepared, move through the hard stuff and see that this is all just life stuff and sometimes it is messy and sad but O the nuggets. You've heard me say it before, life is a terminal condition - we just know a little bit more than most. We, being canSer babes and chaps OR anyone struggling - Ok ALL of us!

This show is about living FULLY. I hope you are inspired. I have no idea what I said, hopefully I wasn't Bambie in the headlights! My recollections come in waves and so far my memories haven't made me cringe! Mehmet RULES, end of story. He is a juice lover too and such a cool doctor, ya don't find many as open and knowledgeable about holistic health. He is a great resource for us all. Also lady O hugs like no other. She hugs like she means it. WE ALL SHOULD. She really connects, with pure power, whoop ass, compassion and MOTHER. I melted into her dress and didn't want to leave.

Thanks so much to all of you that post on this blog regularly. You are the bedrock of this growing CSC revolution. To be honest, you keep me going and grounded. Prayer beads and tiaras to that!

Guess what? The kick ass resource page will be ready this weekend (with product links too!) and my web designer informed me yesterday that we should have the forum up and running within a few weeks! Oh yeah, oh yeah!

Peace & Veggies loves,
Kris

PS. Because of Oprah, TLC has moved the air date to this WEDNESDAY - 10/24 - NOT halloween. It will NOT air on spookie ghost day! Mark your calendars and spread the word.

PSS. I use to write in my journal on a regular basis about appearing on this show. Manifest your dreams women and men, everything is possible. Intention is a ball of white fire lotus love! It is just waiting for you and it really wants to say YES. xo

Tushies to Target!

Calling all Crazy Sexies!

Let's put this bitch to bed once and for all. WHAT IS THE EASIEST JUICER TO CLEAN? Forget about what all the raw foodists say, forget about centrifugal force or slow grind. We NEED to juice and if the machine is too hard to clean, it collects dust! Be honest. We're busy and forgive me, LAZY. There is always time for you but we've been domesticated to throw ourselves under a bus in this country. Believe me, I'm no better, more about that in the next blog. GULP.

The top o' the line juicers are costly, sorta like the down payment on a prius. Sooooo let's do a study! Will you help me? Go to TARGET and buy a juicer. COME ON! Do it. Take your tushie to target (or linens and things etc). Be a detective. If you like it keep it, if you don't, rent it! Renting is what I do with clothes sometimes. Naughty but true, tape the tags down and strut that dress (carefully) then return it the next day. Why not? Stylists do it for Supermodels. We're no different than Heidi Klum!

Email me your data and we'll start a liquid revolution.

Right now I am using the Green Star (it does LOTS of other things too but it has many pieces to put together and wash) and I also use the Breville (I thought it sucked, why is everyone talking about this? Then hubby realized ours was busted - aha! I'll give it another chance when I return it). 3 is a charm, I have a cheap old one too with no name. Very good but not sure there isn't a better one.

Make millions and someone invent one!

Onto another topic, blenders. My friends, the vitamix rules and it is expensive but worth it! As I said in the film, it is the cadillac of blenders....

The resources page will be up this weekend! It will have links to lots of my favorite products. If we're gonna rebuild a gorgeous temple house (our bods) WE NEED SOME DAMN TOOLS!

Peace & juicers,
K

Organic is muy expensivo Mamita! Oiy.

Righteous Cowgirls and Chaps,

I found this handy little chart online - you can print it out and put it on your fridge. They rank produce for pesticide content. If you find yourself confounded by the organic question, this is a good guide to make life easier: apparently, you can lower your pesticide exposure by 90% just by buying organic for the 12 worst on the list! We're all trying to save some cashola so this is a good little diddy.

I try and rationalize my OUTRAGEOUS grocery bill by reminding myself that my medicine cabinet is empty. That's me and ya'll know my sitch. Do what you can and do not stress. Peel your food in some cases, but the best option is to eat a varied diet and buy organic - when possible. Remember, all this stuff can make ya a little fruity. Change one thing at a time and for heaven's sake try not to get too stressed out. Stress makes me cranky.

For a full list, go to: http://www.foodnews.org/walletguide.php

More about blenders, juicers and some (low sugar recipes in a wee bit...)

Back to work!

Peace and Veggies,

Kris

Q&A

I AM SO EXCITED I CAN'T STAND IT! Thanks for all your questions. Remember, I am not a doctor or a scientist but I am a patient and a survivor and today I feel great! I still have canSer but the laundry list of other ailments are GONE. If you have concerns check with your doctor or better yet, a nutritionist or naturopath. Don't expect your surgeon to know all the latest stats on your chow. In fact, sadly, many doctors believe that if they didn't learn it in med school it ain't important. That's not their fault, it's just the way it is. Doctors get ZERO nutrition in med school. Let me make something else clear, I am not about separating East and West. I adore my doctor and I believe in my integrative path. If there was a treatment for me (which there isn't, I take no medicine) I would do it. You've all heard me say this before, whether it's the nature of my disease or the nature of my choices, what difference does it make? I feel better, healthier and empowered! So love your doctor and love your healer. There is so much to learn. Don't fret, make it exciting and be patient loves.

I cut and paste most of your questions. If I missed one. Post again. Don't take my word as GOD (or Goddess) these are just my educated opinions and this is what helps ME. Here we go!!!!!!!!!

I can't seem to find fresh wheat grass in my area however at the local health food store, they have frozen wheat grass in cubes...is this better then no wheat grass at all? Sure, it's better but you can also grow your own. It is very easy! Go to www.hippocratesgreenhouse.com and you'll learn how. Email Michael (the best wheat grass grower in the country_ he'll give you the 411. xo

You recommended a book to me, "The Raw Foods Detox Diet" by Natalia Rose. Do you know of another food-combining book that's in-the-know out here called "The Body Ecology Diet" by Donna Gates? Not sure about Donna's book, I will look into it. Natalia and I are very much in sink and her book is easy breezy. I LOVE IT. Also, the pioneers of this whole movement are the folks who wrote "Fit for Life". Great book. The pH Miracle by Robert Young. Anything written by Brian Clement is awesome. He is my teacher- Natalia was too. Get his book "Living Foods for Optimum Health". xo

In your holistic travels, have you come across any non-toxic hair coloring products or proceedures? How can we do blond in a healthy, non-toxic way? Girrrl, I wish! Does someone else know? That's one way I still pollute myself. I have heard of some products but never tried them out. Now I try to do it less - like twice a year instead of 4 times! Whenever I take in toxins I sauna. xo

1). Do you eat any of the frozen soy products such as morningstar or bocca burgers? I eat very little Soy, small amounts of tofu and or tempeh. Soy is still acidic. Boca burgers - vegan only. I also make sure the majority of my food is 80/20. So 80% of my plate is salad, 20% cooked and it is always properly food combined.
2). Do you take a multi-vitamin? Yes. Please only take vitamins that come from wholefoods, synthetic vitamins are toxic.
3). Do you excersise in the morning or evening? Does it include yoga, walking, weight training? Yes, yes and yes. I exercise 5 days a week and morning is best for me.
4). Can you share what a typical day of eating would look like? (ie: breakfast = banana & smoothie with kale, broccoli, etc). SEE BELOW. Although my smoothie would be cuke, banana, sprouts, avocado, spinach, stevia, ice, cocnut water, and cinnamon. YUM! I'm making that when I finish this post.
5). Do you ever drink red wine? Occasionally, but wine is VERY acidic and the key to vibrant health is an alkaline diet. xo

How do you maintain your diet when you are traveling, going out to eat, going to dinner at a friends, etc? It's easy. I find a juice bar wherever I go. I juice in the morning, that's my breakfast and it works for me. Or I make smoothies. Then I eat 80/20. You can find a salad and a side dish anywhere. Flip the portions. Salad biggest, sausage smallest. xo

Do you cut the wheat grass off at the dirt line (which is what it looks like you're doing in the film)? Yes, cut at dirt line. The white part is very POWERFUL. Email Hippocrates. The email and info for Michael is above. xo

Do you test your pH everyday with pH strips for urine or saliva? Can any doctor look at your blood for acidity/alkalinity?
Yes, I check my pH with strips. Urine is the test I use and it is just a barometer. Our bodies change all the time, but at least I have a direction of where it is or where it is going. 7.365 is optimum so I know where I am and where I need to be. You will always be slightly more acidic in the morning. The only blood test that reveals the quality of blood and terrain is dark field microscopy OR what they call Live Blood Analysis. Western doctors do not use this method. I have had it done at The Tree of Life in Arizona, with Dr. Young in San Diego, at my home away from home- Hippocrates. Go to your local healthfood store and ask around. Here's the deal, you will notice how good you feel when you are alkaline, that should be your gage. When I am alkaline I don't get colds. xo

What exactly did ur fast and diet consist of?
I am not advocating that you all fast, in fact if you do fast it is important to do enemas AND/OR colonics too (in my humble opinion). If you want to fast, FAST WITH NOURISHMENT. Water fasts with sugar and cayenne (some of you know what I am talking about) are nuts to me! When I fast now (like what I did after my tour) I do it for like 3 days (over a weekend) and I juice, make green smoothies, and puree veggies into soups. I use avocados for good fats etc. Basically, I still get top quality nutrients, I just let my digestive system get a break. xo

Can one eat raw without doing the juicing? If I were to do the frozen wheat grass along with a fruit in the morning and then do raw throughout the day and maybe some chicken for dinner, would this get me by or does juicing have to be part of it? Jucing is best. Why frozen wheat grass. How about a green drink instead. Juice cukes, sweet pea or sunflower sprouts, celery or anything green. Juice moves mountains. Tell me why you don't want to. xo

I've been doing some reading about water, pH, electrolytes etc of the various bottled brands. I am wondering what your thoughts are on nitrates, phosphates and silica? Beth, I will look into this for you. In ALL my research I have not found this to be a problem. I highly recommend everyone has a water filter. I just bought a regenerator that raises the alkalinity as well, will let ya'll know how I like it. xo

One thing that I think you should make clear though: raw foods are bad if you're having chemo. Foods need to be well cooked when you have an impaired immune system! NO NO NO! Sorry, but this gets me coo coo. As my pal Beth said, foods need to be organic (as much as possible) and well-washed when you have an impaired immune system, or just don't eat the outer skin. Don't believe the hype!! Eat your veggies! This is the biggest myth going. You can also buy food grade hydrogen peroxide to wash the veggies. I spoke to a highly respected oncologist heavy weight (who new a heck of a lot about nutrition - how refreshings!) recently and he agrees. I asked him to post and he well. Get this, cooked hospital food has tons of bacteria! He knows because he tested it! xo

What would typical day diet be with the raw /processed food if you do not mind me asking. NO processed food love. I do 80/20. You don't need to feel deprived. You should eat! Good fats, olive oil, avocados, nuts (like almonds - very alkalizing), fish (if you like). I do raw till noon (juices, smoothies, low sugar fruit if I'm hungry). Then I have a big salad and a cooked side. I do this for lunch and for dinner. What are some average sides for me?

Avocado sandwich on sprouted grain bread.
Millet, Tempeh, Quinoa, Soups, Lentils, Chick peas, The list is long.... Just proper food combine. I never feel deprived and I do not eat like a rabbit! I love chow! xo

Hope this helps!!!!!

Peace and Veggies!

Stack the odds in your favor

Hi Crazy Sexy Cherished Friends!

Last night was the first Crazy Sexy Bootcamp at the New York Open Center and it ROCKED like Springsteen! I'll be blogging all week about the nuggets of the night - boundaries, breath, nutrition, CanSer Posses, Survivorship, creating your own Save My Ass Tech. Inc, and more tips for headbutting fear. So let's dive in nude!

Let Desperation lead to Inspiration and Education……

Unravel these ideas in this mantra in order to make a kick ass healing game plan. You don’t have to be a canSer patient (spelled wrong to annoy it) to benefit from this mini advice-from-the-trenches. This is about life and LIFE is a frickin’ Juggernaut of Gorgeous, Staggering, Messy, Brilliant, YES, NO, Holy Cow, Holy Shit, champagne supernova, love, loss and learning. The only thing you have to bring to this experience is the willingness to be FEARLESS…

Fantabulous Tip O' The Day:

Eat your Veggies and Shake Your Ass Rock Star!
No one knows more about you than you. Create your Owners Manual. Check in daily. Do a body scan and make adjustments accordingly. We need to be our own medical, mental, physical, emotional and spiritual advocates. Your body IS a temple and your mouth is the ALTAR. When we tune in to the temple we can access our own inner pharmaceutical lab. We can move the Rocky Mountains!

This is what helps me, I am vegan and I follow a mostly raw foods diet. Since I changed the way I eat I have seen big changes in my overall health. Even though I still have a completely stable canSer, I feel awesome! But it’s important to do your homework and understand how to eat this way. You can be what I call a “muffin vegetarian” and feel pretty tired and lousy. In my experience, a vibrant and effective vegan or vegetarian diet means that the majority of your food source comes from veggies! If you don't want to veg head (although veggies are tres sexy) can you cut back on the chops and properly food combine for better digestion? Can ya eat smaller portions of elbows and tushies and surround your plate with greens for more alkalinity? Um, yes. There is always, always a way to participate Yo!

Here’s a little science: the body maintains a delicate PH balance. Basically, by eating a more alkaline diet (leafy greens, veggies, fruits and juicing) as opposed to an acidic diet (high in animal products, processed foods and starch) we flood our bodies with chlorophyll, oxygen, enzymes, vitamins and minerals. As the Nobel Prize winning genius Dr. Otto Warburg said, no disease can live in an oxygen-rich environment. Now that’s food for thought! Junk goes in and junk comes out. If it’s invented in a laboratory it will take a laboratory to digest it! If it has a shelf life longer than yours, DON'T eat it!

1. Get back to nature and back to the garden.
2. Shake your booty.
3. Eat the right alkaline foods that supply your body with oxygen and enzymes.
4. Drink pure water.
5. Give your colon a regular spring cleaning.
6. Keep the stress level down and the joy factor up.
7. Snooze. Snooze. Snooze.

Now get outside Angel Head a Go-Go! Walk or trott. Start the engines running on that juicer! If you don't have a juicer get your cute butt to Target or your local go-to chain and swipe the card! Stack the odds in your favor loves. We all can make a difference in our inner and outer worlds. I'm off to make my green drink (cukes, celery, kale, sweet pea sprouts- anything GREEN).

Peace and veggies!
k

PS. Post any questions on nutrition ya want. If I don't know how to answer them I'll ask my kick butt chow guru mentors. Let's figure this bee-atch out! SMOOCH!
