Tonight!

Holy Crap-o-la, it's here! Finally after 4 long years our film will be premiering on TLC at 9 pm tonight! It's been a Seussical week of hairspray, eye contact, nerves and media. Hope you lovelies caught some of it. The Today Show was a trip! Each time I felt like I was about to sound ridiculous, hurl or cry, I pictured my cancer cowgirls (and dudes) on this blog and your triumphant
love-shine flooded me with a collective electric embrace. I am rivetted by each of you, your stories inspire me more than I could ever inspire you. I wish we could all hang out in sweats in my tiny living room tonight! Organic popcorn and tissues for everyone. Really, the film isn't sad at all. Remember, it's a cancer adventure story!

Now that the dust is settling (yeah right, I leave on Tuesday for a month long book tour) I will blog more. If you get a hot tomato minute, we'll be on Access Hollywood tonight and also the CBS evening news with Katie Couric, check it out!

Ok, off for a quick nap.

Peace and veggies!
Kris

Ps. remember it's a documentary NOT a series so hang in folks, it's 2 hrs long.

PSS. If you liked what you saw go to the TLC site and post on the Crazy Sexy Forum!!! Thanks loves.

I hope your documentary wins some kind of award. It was incredible.
Funny, sad, encouraging ...real! You are a wonderful role model to so many others.
My prayers are with you as you still travel along this adventure.

Hi Kris,

I loved the documentary..I cried, I laughed, I remembered.

I've been fighting cancer since 2004...I still can't say cancer free. I've had 1 surgery and 2 treatments but right now I'm waiting for it to make a move...which I hope it never does.

I'm now 29 years old, married with 2 daughters (6 and 3). I've learned so much from having cancer, not only about pain, but about plain happiness, being the best mommy I can be, living for each day and enjoying every single moment.

Last night, I cried on and off for the full 2 hours...some things you said were the exact same things I've said. I love your sense of humor...that's one thing that you definetely need when dealing with cancer. I remember the day after I found out about my cancer...I asked my husband for a coffee...he was busy and said no...so I played the cancer card and said "but I have cancer"...lol

Hey Kris, I was so inspired by watching this (I had it marked on my calendar since the trailer for aired on TLC :) and it totally rocked! I work with alot of pediatric cancer kids through my website (link on my profile) and we need more of your good energy!
All the best to you and Brian from Washington state.

ps - I love your saying "I won't call cancer isn't a gift, because I wouldn't give it to you", that sums it up perfectly!

To be totally truthful, I hadn't intended to watch the documentary on TLC, but became sucked in by the hard yet sometimes humorous journey on which you've embarked. I cried, I laughed, I wanted to go the doctor and get a zillion blood tests...but what stuck out to me the most, was one little sentence. 'FEAR is the cancer.' And although I don't have cancer, this statement holds true in every area life. The cards we're dealt, also come with a choice. The choice to sit on our asses handicapped by fear and resentment, or to get out there and be proactive in making the best of the situation. You didn't deserve cancer, but if you hadn't gotten it, we'd be a world without your insight. You've taken some of the sting and some of the terror out of the 'c' word, and encouraged cancer patients everywhere to keep fighting for the good things. Summer nights and fireflies....puppy breath...thunderstorms...and most of all, love.

Hey Kris,
Not even cancer has changed you from the beautiful, vibrant, full- of-life, crazy-is-putting-it-lightly young woman who I knew when you were slingin' drinx at Manny's "Carr" Wash! You are truly an inspiration and judging from some of these comments, not only to the people around you but to people all over.
When my friend Liz mentioned the movie and your name, it brought back so many good memories of our days at Manny's. It turns out that Liz is your buddy Jen's sister- what a small world!
Anyway, keep fightin the good fight and good luck with everything. Mikey says hello.

The show was compelling and so true to life. Thank you for letting the rest of us into your mind and heart, watching it made me a stronger person. it also made me get up in the middle of the night and give my wife, son and daughter gigantic hugs!

You are a truly special person, don't ever forget that!

BTW- I totally remembered both Bud Light commercials, too funny.

I loved the documentary although I thought I would be afraid of it. Everyone had gone to bed and I stayed up and took a peek. I documented my 'journey' on my blog on xanga. www.xanga.com/corivoo
I am so glad to be finished with the treatment.... I am not sure I would have been ready to embrace the show when I was going through it, but I am so glad to read the wisdom now.

Hello Kris....What a well done doc. Having walked my then age 36 daughter through those front doors to Dana Farber 3 times I rode that emotional roller coaster with thousands of others for your 2 hours last night. She missed parts of it tending to 2 kids last night and I thought I'd recorded for her but messed up. Where can we purchase a copy? This is a must have for every affected family.
Thank you sooooo much!

Hi Kris!
Watched it, loved it! I'm 51 and was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer in March 2005. I had two surgeries, a Port-A-Cath insertion for chemo administration, and began chemo all within about 5 weeks' time. Just this month I got the great news that I can now graduate from twice-a-year CTs to once-a-year (boy, could I relate to you drinking your "barium cocktail" and going through that scanner with arms above your head, holding your breath, etc.) Anyway, I loved your story and your attitude and sense of humor. I'm glad you let us see you cry. As I close, I must say this: We are SURVIVORS! Thank you for your inspiration. I know your story will help many people as they embark on similar journeys. Keep it up!

Hi Kris,
Congratulations on your film. I love it! I have a very close friend who's going through treatment and your film provides a window into the emotional and physical roller coaster that cancer takes you on.
Thank you! You inspire all to live life to the fullest!

But nobody today can say that one does not know what cancer and its prime cause be. On the contrary, there is no disease whose prime cause is better known, so that today ignorance is no longer an excuse that one cannot do more about prevention. That prevention of cancer will come there is no doubt, for man wishes to survive. I saw your documentary and I loved it. I was so happy to see a take on cancer and the challenges that people face that had an ending of triumph and survival. For me, your film was about more than cancer - it was about being human. All the women whose stories you've shared are amazing, and I was truly touched. Thanks for sharing you experiences, and enjoy being a newlywed!

Hello Kris,
My sister was just told she has "mets to the liver" from her ocular melanoma. she has been fighting this for over 5 years now.
Your book will be the heaping helping of positiveness that she needs so much of right now.
Thanks for everything you are doing, and making her know that she is not alone in this battle.

God Bless
The little sister....

hello! my name is Nazaré.
i live in Portugal and recently i had the opportunity to be able to see your interview in the programme of Oprah and your blog.i just love all!it was just wonderful!! i admire truly people who are or have gone through situations of this nature. my brother died of muscular dystrophy but instead mourn the death of him, remember me than he was as a person and as he tried to reconfortar us (me and my parents) and accept the disease usually passed him.a life for him and wanted us to be the same . see your interview, your testimony was very important to me. it reminded my brother and for all who are or were in similar situations.
I believe that the cure is in our hearts and how we think and see life.
I hope you understand my english;)
a big hug and much strength
