Honeymoon Album and a techno detox

Hellooo beloveds!

Oh my word, ya'll have been super busy and I am so blown away by all your conversations, comments, encouragement for each other, education and information. So many new voices as well. WELCOME. OUR blog rocks! My honeymoon was amazing. DECADENT, restful, and just what I my cowgirl soul needed. Basically I blew it out in every way and now I'm back in Woodstock (and Brooklyn) rolling up my sleeves and digging into my resolutions. While trekking around Costa Rica I had a major revelation about a different kind of detox I want to share with you, unplugging from technology. Bottom line, I need to peel back and tone down my addiction to all things cyber (except OUR blog) and computer related. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a chip in my neck at this point! My desk has 2, sometimes 3 large monitors and I bounce between blogs, news, medical journals, Eco biz, and health sites while working on my own writing and co-running Red House Pictures with my hubby Brian. I spent the month of December shackled to my keys for 10-12 hours per day. It was so intense I gave myself tendonitis and have fully committed to my new quest for a chiropractic guru to unravel my torque.

Detoxing from the techno soup (and all the radiation and aggravation that comes with it) creates serious symptoms! My first few days were brutal. What are we doing now? Where are we going? What do you mean we're just going to read?! I didn't bring any nutrition or self help books! There was nothing to accomplish other than finally finishing "Eat Pray Love" which at this point is totally torturing me. I have been reading it for over 6months! Basically, I was crawling out of my skin and praying for a damn Internet cafe so I could just run away and be with YOU.

In my office, beyond my wall of monitors and out the window is the most amazing site. A cathedral of pine trees, a meditation bench, and a garden in slumber hidden by an enormous quilt of white snow greet me daily IF I take the time to take it in. How often do I look at it? Not enough. In order to thrive in this word do we have to spend more time in a cyberworld? How many hours per day do you devote to the box? What time do you unplug, rub your eyes and re-enter reality? Do you ever notice that your temper seems to shorten and your attention span drifts, jumps and gyrates? Do you get bored easily? How about listening, unless a story particularly turns you on do you start making lists and planning dinner while your friend is musing about her muse or her car payment?

As the days and weeks unfolded I felt the layers of stress melt away (until I had to ask for directions in Spanish in the middle of third world, back road, no habla Ingles-ville). I excavated my inner pace and remembered that I am really a loper at heart. In fact, many of my friends (and my hub) make fun of my walking stride. Apparently I have 2 speeds, slow strut and slightly faster slow strut. I'm a get there when I get there sort of gal, always a bit late but happy to arrive and full of sweet apologies. Though I blaze a trail, I trail behind. Brian is always chirping 'come on little duckling" as I try to keep up with him. But if this is my natural physical MPH, why am I NASCAR on the inside? Hmmmm. Doesn't marry well.

So my biggest resolution is to create a life in keeping with my natural rhythm. If you don't have time to smile, have fun, and do something mindless that accomplishes nada then lovey, it's time to re-prioritize.

1. Set reasonable time limits for tickling keys, surfing, and tube time.
2. Turn it all off by a certain time nightly, without fail. My hour for '08 is 7 pm.
3. Replace online activities with real world actions.
4. Call your pal rather than emailing him or her.
5. Go out rather than getting sucked in.

That said, I am so happy to be back, blogging and learning how to be a new kind of Kris in '08. Lot's of surprises in store for you over the coming months, including weekend workshops at Omega, The Crossings, Kripalu and the NY Open center. If you aren't on my mailing list already take a moment to sign up. Plus, I've got lots of really incredible guest bloggers lined up. This is going to be a great year! Love you all, each and every one of you...

Peace and kill your television,

Kris

haha...I've been using tv to help wean me off the internet. It's not going well. My new year's resolution is to curb my internet addiction -- it's not going well. I'm supposed to be at the grocery store picking out fresh veggies right now. I'm going, I'm going!
Luv you Kris! Welcome home!!
oh p.s. after seeing these pics of you I think I've seen you on the L train. is that possible? nah i think it was just your doppelganger.

Welcome home Kris!
I am so happy to hear that you had a restful and relaxing honeymoon, so both so deserved it.
I can totally relate to your techno detox thoughts. I too seem to be glued to the box with keys at times, and I can see the effects in my life. I am, like you said, short tempered and revving on the inside all the time. Wondering if the conversation could jump a little faster, and wondering if I can find any more information online... lol.
Running online businesses, I can not really take a retreat from the box. I can limit my time though, like you said. I will work on that, thank you for the suggestion :)
I posted once before, a while ago... you and your posse probably don't remember me.. that's ok. I have had fertility issues for years now, and after 3 failed IVF's and 2 failed FET... I am on to #3 FET (frozen embryo transfer). I just wanted you to know, that afer my 3rd failed IVF, I watched your documentary. It changed my life. At that moment, I changed my lifestyle... I bought a juicer, started juicing, started wheatgrass, bought and read your book, Detox Diet and pH Balance. I also began colonics and acupuncture. I thought it was time that I took some control in this seemingly uncontrollable situation.
Well, as of Wednesday, I have had a FET transfer and am pregant until someone proves otherwise. I have my preg test on Jan 30th :)
I just wanted to say, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You have truly made a difference in my life.

Welcome back!

Thanks for the techno detox inspiration. It's been hovering at the back of my mind for awhile, but your post really brought home that I need less time online - oh, sweet serendipity! This could be a bit of a process, but I'm looking forward to it - more real connections, more time for me, and hopefully more time acctually doing stuff (reading good books, making art, getting outside) than just reading about it.

Keep on keepin' on!

She's back! Shes's back! She's baaack! I truly said this out loud while doing a happy dance just now! I was going to skip my green juice today because the juicer was still in the dishwasher from yesterday, but when I saw that there was a new post, I didn't read it right away.. Instead, I got that juicer cleaned up, whizzed up some gorgeous fresh greens and sat down to read and sip with our newly returned heroine! YAY!! We've missed you and worried over you and sent you love and light. I'm SO HAPPY you're back, Kris! Whew.
Love the message, too. I have been distracting myself from my grief by lying comatose in front of the tv for far too many days. I know that "the only way out is through." So, I vow to feel my feelings and start being more proactive. I'm getting my book finished this year, and hopefully, published, too. Hold me to it, friends!
You've perked up my day so much, Kris! Thanks for coming back. And SIGN ME UP for those workshops, honey! I LOVE an Omega getaway. Been there many times. What fun it will be for the blog fam to get to spend some time together. Let's all go!

WELCOME HOME! We missed you!

Your pictures are beautiful - peaceful!

I was computerless about 4 years ago for almost 2 months. After the initial freaking out, a very calm peaceful feeling came over me. It was weird. I should have listened, eh?

I was thinking of you yesterday while I was juicing my greens. We're so glad you back safe and sound.

Thanks again for all you do for all of us.

I, too, love the idea of a techno detox. Turning off the TV more was one of my own '08 resolutions, however, I had not thought about how much my lovely laptop as pulling me away from my darling new husband and my neglected friends.

Hmm...Its time to remember what the world looks like outside my living room and classroom!

welcome home miss kris-you were missed but we did you proud;)my first green juice fast and i did ok and really LOVED it. i need to add something to the tech turn off, the crackberry. so even when i walk away from the radiation machine i STILL can remove myself emotionally from any situation by staying connected to the cb. my realization along these lines is that i am not obligated to be available 24/7 to anyone but myself and my honey and even then private head space is so important...so you may ask what exactly am i doing about all of this?....to be continued
much love to all-

I totally agree with crazysexyshrink.....my crackberry addiction is BAD. Last time, when the trackwheel broke and I couldn't use it, I went to the store and burst into tears and demanded a new one! My attachment runs deep.......
You look amazing in the pics, it looks like you had a wonderful time; I'm so glad for you - you needed it after a crazy december!
I've been trying to cut back sugar and caffeine, and I am so glad to have you back up for inspiration!! (and the rest of the amazing posters on here!!!)

Kris ! !!

Welcome back ! ! Looks and sounds like you had a great time, and got much needed R & R... as well as insight into what new direction your heading.

Sandra Joseph:

I wanted to pass this your way in case you missed that particular show. . . .
I caught the Oprah show the other day (yes, I watch Oprah... and am comfortable with my feminine side!! ;-) with Dr. Christine Northrop, an incredible woman and great doctor. She was addressing the audience with various health issues. One woman in particular was asking about Fibroids, and she was explaining different procedures that they are doing now to get rid of them, but . . . . it was Dr. Northrup's Mind/Body explanation in particular that caught my attention.... she said the reason that Fibroid's form is because of :
(and please, am not implying anything here... ok... :-)

"Creativity that hasn't been 'birthed' yet. . . . or . . . . it is shoving your Creative Energy into a dead end job or relationship".

I hope all is well with you Sandra, and your still staying the Course, as they say, in getting well.

gooney and Sandra Joseph:

I know I might get flack for posting this, but it has helped me and others recover...and is very cheap and safe to use..so...here goes . . .

Have you ever looked into using Ozone (oxygen) as a means of ridding yourself of endometriosis, Cysts & Fibroids ?

I have a friend that used this very method to get rid of her endometriosis, and it took very little time at all. In fact, there is documentation that it has cured (yes, I said cured) many female cancers in the reproductive area.

I bought an ozone machine 10 years ago and used it to get rid of a pre-cancerous colon that was plaguing me for years. (severe Ulcerative Colitis)

In the mid 80's, people with Cancer and HIV were flying off to Europe, and paying thousands of dollars to stay in German clinics, and get Ozone put into their systems, and were getting phenomenal results. The Germans have been using ozone now for over 50 years...and have now treated over 10 million people. Yet... it is not talked about here in America.

You can buy an Ozone machine for under 2k and use it yourself in your own home . . . the treatment itself takes only 5 min, and is called an Ozone Insufflation. (I do mine 2x's a day when I am in town)

Using the juices, and the cleansing programs that your on is perfect for this type of treatment, as the body can always use more oxygen....and remember.... Cancer, Viruses, etc ... cannot live in an oxygenated environment.

As you know, food is part of the 'Healing Pie' that is used to get well... Ozone (oxygen) introduced into the body can speed up ones healing by as much as 50%... and there are NO side effects !

There is a video on the web called 'The Use of Ozone in Medicine', and has some of the best European and American doctors talking about Ozone and oxygen (the late Dr. Atkins being one of them) . . . it explains in greater detail why this method works... if your interested, you can see it at:
(in fact, I urge everyone here to watch this... it's less than an hour long)

http://video.google.com/videoplay?
docid=-8249818030797137906&q=ozone&
total=13065&start=0&num=10&so=0&type
=search&plindex=4

Lastly, I wanted to say, that I don't sell ozone machines, and am not promoting anything here, other than feeling compelled to share a shortcut with you so that you can get well.

sincerely,

Clint

Welcome home you happy honeymooner....I am glad it was so restful and rejuvenating.

I have to admit, I am a crackberry queen myself. I love the idea of techno-cleansing. Hopefully I can get my husband on board too.

Well Kris, we had a nice time while you were away, but we are certainly glad you are back! Happy New year!

Hi Kris,
Glad your back safe & sound. I don't know about you, but I think I lolligag along because even though my mind may be going a mile a minute, I think I do it to take everything in, absorb my surroundings (or not) & sort of do my relaxing. It's like when I'm grocery shopping, I can easily spend an hour at Whole Foods or Sprouts, even if I know what I want to get!
Looking forward to hearing what you've got in store for everyone.

Clint,
You've got a lot of great info in that brain of yours, keep it coming.

Welcome back Kris!! I think you could tell we are all thrilled to have you back! You mentioned Omega...see if you can get another course on the schedule when Omega goes to Maho Bay on St. John in the USVI! If you can book a speech there, and you want to go totally rustic, try to book tent cabin A 24...it has the best view. Next time you get a hankering for snorkeling. You won' miss your computers one little bit. (But I do have to say that when I saw the picture of your desk and those multiple monitors, I was envious!)

Clint -

You have me in tears right now. I have been suffering with endometriosis/cysts/adenomyosis/pelvic congestion syndrom/polyps/ for years. I have lost my uterus and cervix, and the last time I saw my doc, he was talking about taking my ovaries. I am only 33, so it has been tramatic. The pain is debilitating and depressing. No one really understands what I go through because it isn't something you can see, and people don't talk about endo very much. I have never heard of curing endo with an oxygen machine. When you said that you and your friend are cured my eyes opened up another inch! I would do just about anything to stop the pain from endo. The last 4 months with this diet change have made a huge improvement, but I still have some days, recently 4 of them, that the pain and fatigue got the better of me. That is very interesting about the fibroids too. I don't think that it is crazy at all. I don't think it is a cooincidence that all of my sickness has taken up residence in my reproductive organs. I have read about the mind/body connection and believe in it. You always make me smile and am very thankfull that you are a part of this group! I've got to check your link.

Sandra -

I can only give you my oppinion on bc pills, and that is that I don't like them. Sorry I know that wasn't any help at all. I think we should both run out and buy an oxygen machine. I haven't even looked it up yet and I'm sold!

Hi gang! it's like christmas every morning when I wake uup and read your comments..sorry i worried ya. Never fear, mama cowgirl won't abandon the magic barn! come on now! Terri is so right to add the crackberry. my word, I realized I love it so much that i refused to mention it. there have been times when brian gets furious - married to me or that thing kinda stuff. I feel like a monkey in an experiment, like pavlav's dogs. each time it buzzes i jump for a hit. Boundaires and time lines. Since I've been back I have stopped checking by 6 or 7pm at the latest. Some folks actually send me messages like I'm slacking! Well, i don't blame them. I set the bar, paced the tempo. I used to get a high out of how fast and on it I was, even in deadline or personal crisis kris is such a responsible hard core work a holic that you WILL hear from her at midnight and your question WILL be answered. Can you believe? Do you do this? the only way to change is to change. I have to work today because I took Friday off and I have to fly to florida next week to give a big speech for 1700 people at the Philips corporation. plus the book is back so it's time to edit. BUT this cowgirl will try and be reasonable about it. I must say it makes me feel better that you all agree...

OK, first and foremost TOTALLY CHIC GIRLY: I am so damn happy for you! When i read your comment I ran into the kitchen to tell Brian. We both ran back to the computer to rerad it again and burst into thrilled giggles. Please keep us posted. At some point I think it would be very important to track crazy sexy success stories, it's the only way we can move the mountains we need to move in order to really make change. you are an inspiration love. Keep on juicing, loving yourself and the wee one inside. XO K

Clint - spot on my friend. There is so much controvery about ozone. I have considered it myself several times but when I get mixed messages from my teachers (like Brian Clement at HHI) I back off. Will look into it again today. You make me want to have a few guest bloggers from the fold. Perhaps you'd like to be one of them?
xo K

Dr. Sue - I love reading your comments, keep them coming and thank you.

Ray - Roxie here! What a treat!!!! Honey I miss you sooo much, would love to see you again and go chant. When are you in NYC, still in LA LA. Email me!!!!

Glomerulife - tell me more...

Joy - tell us about Ma Jaya. BVD is a hoot right?

Lisa - music, well it is always changing. I must say I am a classic rock gal. Wickedly in love with The Band, van, Dylan, blues, anything twangy and wandering. I worship Michael Franti (his eco/love/political messages are genius), adore WAH, Krishna Das, BVD. Picked up a great classical spanish guitar in CR and have been listening to Donna Delory's chants (she was madonna's backup singer - good chanter now). Also, the Into the Wild soundtrack is breath taking...and how about some Flaming Lips?

Sandra - You magic maniac! Girrrl, I can feel your 100 watt energy and it makes me light up right with ya. YES, come to the workshops! I hope you all can, blog family unite. I know they are expensive. i wish I could get a grant in time so I could help pay for you all. Sounds like the healing is happening love. Been thinking about you a lot. Keep writing, it will be the healing. No doubt you will get published (if you commit to finishing) you are too bright. Look at all the nonsense out there! You are a GREAT writer. Peel back on the tube and put your pain on the page. OK? Big xo K

I join with everyone in welcoming you home from what looks and sounds like a slice of peace and heaven...you have been so missed!

Your blog has become a part of my daily routine - I find myself so eager to check in to see how we're all doing, as well as grab onto a piece of info to help me on my road to the new and improved me! Articles, other blogs, receipes and lifestyle links...well, you all get it...the next thing you know a couple hours have passed!! My kids call me the "google queen" - not an insult, but definitely a wake up call.

So, all things in moderation I guess...try to live in the moment and not let the important things pass you by as you sit in cyberworld!

I am loving you all so much. I agree, Kris...it's like Christmas morning waking up and seeing what the magic blog fairies have left under the tree. Thank you, Mama Cowgirl for the inspirational shot in the arm. I wrote six pages yesterday, which may not sound like much, but after writing ZILCH for the last I-don't-know-how-many months, felt like a major accomplishment to me. Your message this morning gave me the oomph I needed to keep at it.

And Clint, my darling Clint...do you feel the love out here for you? If you don't go to the Kris Omega workshop so I can give you a hug and buy you some green tea, I will not forgive you. Thank you so much for your kind words and your incredible insight. I am an Oprah-holic but I actually missed Dr. Northrup this week. (My sister is saving it for me on her Tivo, though. Thank you, Monica. She reads the blog but hasn't posted yet.) ;) The connection between fibroids and birthing of creativity makes perfect sense to me. Yet another reason to get this book out of my head and onto the page. And I will totally watch the video about ozone. I was not hip to the oxygen thing at all before this cs cowgirl showed me the light. I will investigate the oxygen machine. I'm longing for a biomat and a rebounder, too. I better get a good book deal...or a second mortgage.
Thank you to all who commented on the birth control pill sitch. I hear you and I'm pondering. Off of one med at a time. I wanted to tell Bav/Beth that I was able to wean off of Prevacid after transitioning to 80/20 as per her recommendation. Thank you, sister Beth, wherever you are.

Callie, I am sending mega energy to you for your scan results. It's amazing how you've converted your doc. You can't argue with the results you and Duncan have achieved. Is Saatchi a dog or cat?

Totally chic- January 30th is my mom's birthday. I will be sending energy to you in hopes that you will get good news that day about an upcoming birth of your own.

Sweet broken English Tah, I'm going to put that movie on my list. Your post made me smile. A beautiful soul can be recognized in any language.

OMG CALLIE, I just read your latest post while I was typing away. A beach and bunch o' cowgirls and guys?! I'm there! You are too much, girl. How exciting! I'm free tomorrow. How far a drive is it from Memphis? :) Actually, hubby and I are finally heading for home tomorrow. He is taking two weeks off from the High School Musical Tour and we're going back home to the Jers. Can't wait for my own bed. Been sleeping in hotel rooms for three months straight.
Love to all. I'm off to walk the dogs and then crank out some more pages. xoxo, SJ

Kris,
Just watched one of my favorite preachers on TV, Joel Osteen, & it prompted me to write as he made me think of you. If you're not familiar with him, he has a HUGE congregation in TX & a couple of best selling books. He's known as the positive message preacher.
I think the two of you are similar because you both are encouragers, motivators & positive message people. The world needs more people like you who speak out. Obviously you're seeing that you are touching many people & the numbers are growing. I know this is not a sudden thing for you, as your film & book have been out for a while now. I forsee great numbers of people hopping on the bandwagon (or their horses-giddyup!) in your future.
You go girl!
Remember, our best days are still ahead!
Thanks for renewed excitement in the raw foods department for me.

They wanted to remove MOST of my colon, and I wouldn’t let them.. and fought back with diet and ozone... it does work. Hang in there, ok ?!

But yes, please watch that video... it won awards for it’s presentation and content and is very educational. It’s a must to see !

I was wondering if you ever thought about blogging about birth control pills and how bad they are for us (e.g. women on progestins get more cancer). i think this is very important... it doesn't seem an area tackled much by alternative health.

Hi Kriss ! !

I hear you re the controversy over ozone.. much of it is bloated hype (I promise you) . . . ozone is our friend. . . and the body welcomes it with open arms

Part of the reason I wanted to make a post about ozone in this blog, is because 99% of the people in here, are women . . . and, having a vagina (there... I said it !) is an added advantage, because the ozone is applied into the vagina and is in direct contact with fibroids, cysts, and cancerous tumors. With men, it can only be via the rectum.

One of the things that has to be respected about ozone, is that you never breathe it, as it does irritate the lungs. Much like they tell you on TV in the summertime, when it's very hot out, about the "dangerous ozone levels"... making ozone out to be the bad person. When, in fact, the ONLY reason ozone falls to the ground, and is breathable, is because it has just finished dragging toxic air pollution out of the sky, becomes too heavy to stay afloat, and then falls to the ground.(making the air better breathable for us) ...much like it bonds with cancer, viruses, etc... and escorts it OUT of the body so we can be healthy :)

Also, ozone has to be hydrated before it enters the body. Which means that the gas is run thru a small cylinder of water (that you get with your ozone machine) and then from there, is applied as you wish.

I have heard that ozone can interfere with the absorption of Vitamin C, depending on how close you take it with your insufflation, but to me, that is minor.

Incidentally.. when you give yourself an ozone rectal insufflation... the ozone is absorbed thru the rectum/sigmoid colon wall, and travels immediately to the liver... which is why I thought it might be of interest to you Kriss to explore it further.

Definitely ozone has to be respected, and the old adage that "using more is better" does not apply here.

Insufflations (depending which orifice of the body) usually last 60 - 90 seconds... and are at certain concentrations (#1 - #10 on the dial) and can usually be done 2x's a day.

Was curious how the 'Guest Blogger' thingy would work....

Hi everybody and welcome back Kris.

I took a bit of a tech detox day yesterday--hardly was on this machine at all. Spent a day in a nearby town with an old friend, then last night attended a memorial service for a friend's father. The service was very emotional, but uplifting because the man who died was a compassionate, tenacious local doctor who totally lived by his valuesand touched lots of lives. (Must have been 500 people in attendance.)

I'm all for tech detox, and I need it. I spend way too much time online, to the detriment of my family and probably myself. Much of my computer time is work-related, but much of it is not. I find myself lurking on raw food sites, on mothering, here.

So bye for now! Off to live my life offline for the rest of the day!

OK, I'm feeling very ADD right now and I have a lot to say, so bare with me.

Kris, Mama Cowgirl! I can't tell you how much I've missed your words of wisdom. I reallly was thinking that I miss my mommy the last couple of days. Sorry, I know that is weird.

Clint - Please don't be sorry. I was crying happy tears. I get very emotional anytime I get a glimpse of hope of being completly pain free. I think also that I have become an expert at surpressing the negative emotions that arise from being in pain, so that people will stop asking me if I'm OK, and the thought of actually being OK, is a lot of pent up emotion spilling out! you have given me a glimpse! It is so inspiring to hear people tell stories of healing themselves. I'm so glad you and your friend found a way to heal yourselves. I watched 1/2 of the video on ozone, and will be able to finish up the rest tomarrow morning. It is so interesting.

Callie - I'm so happy for you and Duncan's progress. It doesn't surprise me that you are converting your doctor to this CSC lifestyle. I think you could move a mountain if you wanted to!

Sandra - Oh my gosh, when I read that you are writing a book, well I just thought that is the perfect thing for you. I have admired your way with words since I started reading your posts. You have a gift, and I know your book will be amazing!

Finally, if anyone here lives in NorthEast Ohio, plese go to Mustard Seed Market. I just went for the first time, and even though I have never been to WF, I imagine it is just as good. Everything in the store is organing. They have it all from produce, deli, frozen, household, cosmetic, supplements, books, wine! I grabbed a flyer on the way out and they hosd seminars, some sponsored by The Cancer Project, and most of them are free. The seminars are about Dairy Alternatives, Replacing Meat, Antioxidants & Phytochemicals, Immune Boosting Foods, Learning To Meditate, Detox Diets, and many more. You can check out their website at
http://www.mustardseedmarket.com/

Well I need to go. I'm so ADD right now. I'm in the middle of reading 3 different books. The China Study, PH Miracle, and Healing Cancer with Nutrition, and my mind is about to burst into a thousand tiny pieces. I'm supposed to be crocheting a blanket for my grandmother, and I haven't even started. Shouldn't it be the other way around!LOL. OK, I'm really going.

Good Night, Sleep Tight!

Sorry...

was going to post a few links regarding ozone research...here's a few places to start that have some facts and educational info: I will work on my ADD as well ! ;-)

http://www.oxygenmedicine.com/
articles.html

http://www.lightparty.com/Health/
MedicalOzone.html

Below, is a list of the major benefits of ozone that I lifted from a website

MAJOR EFFECTS OF OZONE

1. Ozone stimulates the production of white blood cells. These cells protect the body from viruses, bacteria, fungi and cancer.
If, deprived of oxygen, these cells malfunction. They fail to eliminate invaders and even turn against normal, healthy cells (allergic reactions). Ozone significantly raises the oxygen levels in the blood for long periods after ozone administration; as a result, allergies have a tendency to become desensitized.

2. Interferon levels are significantly increased. Interferons are globular proteins. Interferons orchestrate every aspect of the immune system, inhibit viral replication.

3. Ozone stimulates the production of Tumor Necrosis Factor. TNF is produced by the body when a tumor is growing. Ozone stimulates the secretion of IL-2. Interluekin-2 is one of the cornerstones of the immune system. It is secreted by T-helpers. T-helper causes it to produce more IL-2. Ozone's main duty is to induce Lymphocytes to differentiate and proliferate, yielding more T-helpers, T-suppressors, cytotoxic T's, T-delayed's and T-memory cells.

4. Ozone kills most bacteria at low concentrations. The metabolism of most bacteria is on average one-seventeenth as efficient as our own.

5. Ozone is effective against all types of fungi. This includes systemic candida albicans, athlete's foot, molds, mildews, yeasts, and even mushrooms.

6. Ozone fights viruses in a variety of ways. As discussed above, ozone also goes after the viral particles directly.

7. Ozone is antineoplastic. This means that ozone inhibits the growth of new tissue because rapidly dividing cells shift their priorities away from producing the enzymes needed to protect themselves from the ozone. Cancer cells are rapidly-dividing cells and are inhibited by ozone.

8. Ozone oxidizes arterial plaque. It breaks down the plaque involved in both Arteriosclerosis and Arthrosclerosis.

9. This means ozone has a tendency to clear blockages of large and even smaller vessels. This allows for better tissue oxygenation in deficient organs.

10. Ozone increases the flexibility and elasticity of red blood cells.

11. Ozone accelerates the Citric Acid Cycle. Also known as the Krebs Cycle or TCA Cycle, this is a very important step in the glycolysis of carbohydrates for energy.

12. Ozone makes the antioxidant enzyme system more efficient.

13. Ozone degrades petrochemicals. These chemicals have a potential to place a great burden on the immune system.

peace,

Clint

Thanks for the comment Kris! Your documentary sparked this journey for me, so getting a message from you is a thrill. I happened to catch your film a few months ago on TLC and your experiences helped push my hopes into action. I was away this weekend at the Sivanada Ashram in Woodbourne, NY, which was a wonderful break from computers and phones. There is a balance somewhere and I think your idea of a cut-off time in the evening is very helpful. I am also a writer and its difficult to draw the line and walk away from the computer sometimes! By the way, I highly recommend listening to Eat, Pray, Love on audio CD or your iPod. I listened to Elizabeth Gilbert read the novel on my drive to the ashram and back and it was very inspiring to hear her story from her lips. Thanks again for stopping by my blog! Hi gang,

Off on another road trip, will write more wednesday. Also I will be on NPR- Boston (WBUR) wednesday morning around 11am chatting about the film The Bucket List.

2 quick thoughts: Clint inspired the idea of profiling a blogger each week or by monthly. Since we are such a tight crowd i think it might be nice to get to know the regulars a little more. What do you all think?

Also, Clint I watched the entire video last night and I was amazed. When I get back from my trip I will look at the other links you added. Just out of curiosity, if we wanted to research the best home models, what would you recommend? Do you think that the home models are as effective as say going to one of the major clinics recommended (which of course is very expensive - so home sounds better to me) and how do you gage what dosage to use?

Major disclaimer: please remember that Clint and I are not doctors, we are educated consumers and health seekers. Clints advise is just that, advise. I need to throw that out to protect ya bud. Many people have advised me to put an official disclaimer on the blog to protect myself. Sad but true because we chat about "dangerous" stuff. Oh, please!

That said, I am sooo interested. Chat on...

I finished watching the oxygen ozone therapy video this morning. WOW! It really ticks me off that americans are kept in the dark about treatments like this because the pharmasuitical companies can't make a profit off of it. Why cant we be a nation where helping someone that is sick is done because it is the right thing to do instead of it only being done to make a huge profit? Where can one buy an ozone machine? Did you go to Europe for your treaments? Please tell me more!

Ok My sounds good for most but the summer is booked. So lets say a year from now would be April 2009. SO I am going to book this for April 2009. start saving pennies and I will find a good date. And let us know early if bills are getting in the way. We will manage. We are family no one gets left out.

Now.. Terri I will write you asap about the bio mat. I really do not understand why it works but it helped his pain in the hospital and I have been using it and it makes my long bones. The cancer ones feel better. It was a chunk of change but worth it.

I swear clint this ozone has me so fasinated. I need to investigate it more but your are fabulous.
It seems like a large ticket item too but I wonder if you can get a prescription or reimbursement from insurance???

Well yet again my webmaster has not posted this morning so today is my independence day my assistance as been swearing he can do this and he is fab so.. he is it. Kriss,

Thank you for that disclaimer, and you are so very right. I use ozone for myself, and my advice is just that... advice. No, I am not a doctor, and all I really can offer is advice, and hope that it works for you as well as it did for me.

In the past, I have attended a few seminars, and have gone and met a few sellers of these machines myself, to see if they are legit (and they were)

You can only buy an ozone machine from Canada... once you see the video, you'll understand why. I bought my first ozone machine over 12 years ago, and still have it. They are now making better machines these days, and the company that I have talked to, and feel offers great service (and they are just plain nice people) is 'Longevity Resources' .... and you can see their machines at :

http://www.ozonegenerator.com/ozone_
generators/ozone_generators.php

Their prices may have gone up, as I have not talked to them in a while, but their machines are reasonably priced

Kriss, you ask a great question... "Do you think that the home models are as effective as say going to one of the major clinics recommended" ?

My answer is yes. Because... doing an ozone Rectal Insufflation, is 95% as effective as 'Auto-Hemo Therapy', (which is, withdrawing one liter of blood from you, bubbling ozone through it and re-introducing the mixture back into the bloodstream.... a very lengthy process.)

A rectal (or vaginal) insufflation takes 90 seconds to do, and you can do it yourself, in your own home, and twice a day.

Hope this helps,

Clint

gooney:

Thank you, I appreciate that... taking out a person's colon was way too radical for me at that time, (I was 21) and I felt that there HAD to be a better way.

Am not sure if you ever watched that mini-series called 'Lonesome Dove' (with Robert Duvall & Tommy Lee Jones) ....but I kind of felt like Gus (Duvall) when they wanted to take off his other leg, (they already removed his first one) because of severe infection, and also that he'd die if it wasn't taken off.
His answer to them was...

...... "well . . . how am I supposed to kick a pig" ?

Being stubborn has it's good points ;-) . . . .

basic me:

I haven't heard of anyone here in the U.S. going thru insurance, or getting any reimbursement for ozone... it just doesn't happen. (at least not that I know of)

For me, it has been something that I keep on the hush hush, and don't talk about much, because the whole topic is very controversial.

I have 2 doctor friends that do use ozone, but they use it to treat themselves, and their families.

There are clinics in Mexico, and even some around the U.S., but I'd research them first before being treated by them.

I just posted a long post and lost it (like a dummy), so I'll just keep this short. I haven't posted in a while, but have continued checking in to read everyone's posts. I just wanted to tell Sandra Joseph that I also have uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts. I'm 33, never had kids, but getting married in June and hope to have kids. Long story short, one of the fibroids is the size of a small orange and is obstructing my bladder a bit, causing pain and UTIs. It's also possibly blocking a fallopian tube, so getting pregnant might be a challenge I'm told.

I've never been sick really and this gynecologic stuff is just so confusing and overwhelming. It's hard not to ask "Why me?" especially when the fertility question looms ahead. I broke down and went on birth control (Yaz) last September to help get rid of the ovarian cysts. Am now really doubting that decision, because I'm bleeding around 14 days a month and still having some pain. Is it worth it? I don't honestly know. I wish I knew why I am having these issues and what, truthfully, I can do about them. I'm overwhelmed with all the different advice. And I have read several books--many of them talk about the connection between fibroids and emotions...dead-end jobs, failed relationships, not having kids. But these just made me feel like it's my fault for having fibroids, since I have not had kids, have not married yet, and have not really advanced in my career yet (still working on a PhD). What I hate most is the feelings of powerlessness and the confusion over why the fibroids are there, and the anger over how a benign growth could potentially rob me of my chance to have a baby. It all just seems so stupid and pointless.

Okay, enough rambling... I totally sympathize with other women out there grappling with these issues. And thanks to Clint and others who are posting advice and resources. I am definitely going to check those out!

Hello Kris!
I first want to thank you for inspiring me and making me feel hopeful again. I am 46 years old I have had uterine cancer, with radiation treatments and a total hysterectmy 2 years ago, the little voice looms every now and then about recurrance but your book is so hip and cool and inspiring that I just want to give you a huge hug you are truly an angel. I wanted to ask you, I have a regular doctor that checks blood, BP, and all of the other normal stuff, then I have the doctor that did my cancer surgery check my vagina every 6 months, I go on my own to a clinic to get my mamograms. The orginal doctor that did my partial hysterectmy, (which by sending in the uterus found cancer) retired the same time I was scheduled for removal of 42 lymph nodes, overies cervix. So he is the doctor I go to for my vaginal checkup. Instead of a regular obgyn. (Old one retired) I m not sure if I should leave him an go to a different cancer place, I've heard of people who get scans to check if cancer has spread to other organs. They gave me 98 percent recovery rate but I still think about other organs. TIA I curious and want others inputs.

Clint,
I loved Gus. I felt exactly like that when they wanted to remove my leg. I had a fit. Told them you need ten toenails to wear sandals and if they were removing anything it could wait until I had tried everything. I won... I have my leg. I is a metal bar mostly but the bar in on the inside and my little piggies are all intact. That is the girl version. I love the ozone thing. It is sounding good. It is a shame about conventional insurance I am giong to keep hounding around and see what I can find.

Now someone said something about feeling guilty about negative emotions causing the fybriods and worry about it being thier fault. Stop that.. right now.. haha.. shit happens.. and some folks say on a metaphysical level all disease is caused by negativity.. why did we all get cancer or what have you.. a stupid mutant gene.. now go forth and be positive.. hah.. I do not beleive in blame. Life has things in it that are unpleasant you are a survivor and a strong woman.. no little baseball sized anything can stop your dreams be it children ot tap dancing on the empire state building. Just re-group and get a good specialist that helps you get over this.. find some answers on your own.. food, lifestyle and go at it. As Kris says in her book take a crumb and make a cake out of it... NO more of that.. I think the point is that we need to love ourselves.. with all of us.. acceptance and peace is the road to happiness and life will be easy.. and now you have a posse of positive active people pulling for you and with you. Much love and hugs.. hugs.. hugs.. No more thoughts of guilt that is just fear turned inward... turn that fear into an attack on life and be happy and this to will pass. Pep talk over.. Callie

I have been feeling weird about posting on this blog for some time now because I don't have canser. I wonder if I'm intuding into a world that I don't fully understand or relate to. My family thinks it is weird too. I've been trying to find a support group for my disease, but I just can't find one that is as positive as this group. Your last post is exactly what I mean. I need people like you in my life. I want to identify with people that have my disease, but everyone I come in contact with talks negatively and it's like one big pitty party about their failed surgeries and drug treatments. You don't hear that here. People vent their frustrations here, but it is quickly turned around by someone like you that reminds me everyday that my life is a blessing. This group has made me a happier and healthier person, so I hope that it is OK to be here with you all.

Callie,

Thank you love. I won't feel weird anymore and I'm so glad I got that off of my chest. I really hope I get to meet you in person so I can give you a huge hug.

Deb,

I'm just finishing up that book now. I didn't realize he was trying to sell something. I did find it really interesting that he has so many studies on how vitamins and minerals actually help when taken with chemo. My FIL recently finished chemo and was told NOT to take any vitamins. What do you think? I'm adding you to my prayer list tonight and sending you a huge healing vibe right now.

thanks for your kindness, it has me in tears right now. I bought aloe vera juice and vita C and org. coffee (for enemas, I am a virgin yet at that..:) at TJ's...I keep telling myself that I have come such a long way and that there is probably so much more to learn.
BTW, Dr Quillan answered my email asking for a consult with him, he is not doing any work with canser right now but reccomended a dr in Hunt. Beach.. a bit of a trek but I am going to call and see if I can afford it.
Thanks so much for all the love the prayers..

PS. I'm also trying to live more of my life offline. I'm in the sunshine, on my patio now with my laptop.

Does that count?

Hi Kris,
I am watching your movie (I taped it) and it is very moving! You are an inspiration to all and your sense of humor helps immensely.
I am an oncology research nurse manager of Phase I trials and I would love to show your movie to my fellow employees. Better yet, perhaps you could come talk to us in person.
Hang in there!

Kris.. thanks for your comment, it gave me the biggest smile and tears to my eyes. I am glad that you thought enough to get Brian and re-read my post :) that is sweet. I am feeling good. The mind games are beginning, which I am sure you know all too well. The waiting... the wondering... the waiting... your mind starts to wonder and wander.
I just keep going to the gym (walking), juicing, protein shakes, eating, working my way until Jan 30th.
Sandra Joseph ~ I agree... Jan 30th is a great day. Thank you for your kind thoughts and I will reap in the energy... send it my way sistah!
I will keep you updated on my situation, for sure. Thank you for caring.
I think tracking crazy sexy success is a brilliant idea!! If you are interested in doing that, and need help... perhaps I could do something...

Good Morning Everyone!

Sandra, or anyone with terrible cramps. If you suffer from cramps and use a heating pad to try to ease the pain I found this website that has these really cool heating pads that you should see.

Deb,
How are you today? Is the swelling going down? I'm sending you more healing vibes.

Does anyone know when Kris' documentary comes out on DVD? I never got to see it.

HI all
I am feeling much better, still a bit of swelling but my jaw overall is less sore.. I feel the love and good vibes THANKS!
I started a vitamin c protocol...Dr. Quillan says that canser is stupid and thinks that vitamin c is sugar, eats it up then dies.. and I like that!
So I am up to 3 grams today of a c complex. ..you need all the bioflavinods and rutin etc.
I am drinking green tea and taking the caps for my cll too.
Thanks again, I love you all so much you have no idea the intensity!

Kris, I stumbled on your blog after seeing your site - love your photography. And congrats on the honeymoon, girl! Getting away from the tech stuff for a bit sure does your brain some good! (After the withdrawal, of course.) I'm pretty much tied to my computer, between IT job and then coming home to edit my projects, and all that jazz...

My fiance lost his mom to melanoma - something that should never happened if the doctor had just *told her* the test results. After all of the heartbreak, we're finally planning our first vacation in 2 years to the middle of nowhere, Arizona. Purposely trying to find a spot with little to no cell signal so that we don't get tempted to take another internet hit or get more bad news...

It's great to hear you had such a wonderful time away. RNR well deserved. I am just finishing my own treatment for Breast Cancer. I had my port removed last week. It's a great way to start the year.
It sounds like we all need to pace ourselves. Goals are a good thing but not when they interfere with the quality of our lives.
Looking forward to hearing what you have in the works once you have recharged your batteries.

Enjoy,

Hi Kris. Welcome back. Coming to you from Maine. I am a big fan of yours but have to admit that all this talk about juicing and detoxing has my head spinning.

In August of 2006, I was dx with stage IV colon cancer. This came as a huge shock since I have always been "healthy girl" and was only 37 yrs old. They basically told me I was going to die. They would not discuss surgery and told me the chemo would just prolong my life.
Well, that was 17 months ago. I have been through 12 months of chemo (6 months at a time) and have had TWO surgeries to remove the tumors. It has been a very long and difficult road but I just finished chemo and received the results of my latest pet scan. It came back clear!!!! Of course they can't tell me I am cancer free but they could not find any trace of cancer from the scans. According to the doctors, I should not be here but God has other plans for me.
I am writing to share my story but to also find out how to start juicing. I do have a juicer but find the whole thing very overwhelming. Where do I start? What do I do? Where am I???????
Any suggestions for a "virgin" juicer???????

Hi Jess,

From one stage IV colon cancer chick to another! I was diagnosed last Feb., had colon surgery, then chemo, then liver surgery (it had spread to the liver)then more chemo. As of right now I am technically cancer free.
I must admit I get a bit annoyed when I hear that colon cancer is so easily treated when caught "in time." I was not 50 yet and hadn't had a colonoscopy so how would I know? And 37? Yikes!
I'm glad you're doing well.
Juicing: it's easy and yummy. I have Juiceman. My favorite cocktail (used to be martinis!) is 1 cucumber, 2 stalks of celery, 3 large kale leaves, 2 carrots, one apple.
I am outside of Boston; please contact me if you want to talk colon. My email is clevine67@comcast.net

All the best,

Cheryl

Thanks Kris & everyone for all of your insight, wisdom, love & encouragement! I have a question...I have no cancer, but only autoimmune issues - thyroid, gastroparesis (my stomach is paralyzed!), anxiety & depression. At 46 I'm sure I'm menopausal, but the hysterectomy 7 yrs ago from uncontrollable bleeding & constant anemia leaves me guessing! OK - the ???...I want so bad to juice, detox, cleanse, fast, go to Hippocrates, etc. BUT...I get NO support from husband & 3 teenage kids!! HELP! I fight an uphill battle daily - my family calls me crazy, weird, healthnut, etc. No wonder I'm depressed! Any suggestions? Thanks, you all are the best!!

Becky,
You've come to the right place for support. I too am 46 with autoimmune issues so we have something in common! You know, unfortunately, a lot of people aren't aware of the benefits of this kind of lifestyle, don't believe it because it isn't a "quick fix" or a pill that a doctor prescribes (however, if you read the comments here, you'll see some doctors minds are being changed.) You are the only one who can take care of your own temple, no one will do it for you. Sometimes it's hard to step out without your family's and/or friends support, but once you begin & start feeling better, no one can stop you. A lot of my family & friends think I'm a healthnut, too intense about health, obsessed, blah blah blah. I really don't care because I feel great & I think I can still do everything I did 20 years ago. This site is fantastic because you can talk to others & read about what you're interested in. I say so what if the family teases you. We're all here. Start slow if you have to, ask questions if you need to & keep checking in. Get fired up about your health because nobody else can do it for you. We all feel anxiety & get depressed at times, that's when you need to talk to yourself & say, Not Today! Do something nice for somebody, it always makes me feel better. Good Luck!

Hello everyone. Today I had an MRI of my head and torso. I've had numbness on the right side of my face since mid-October, but no paralysis...thank goodness. Ever since the numbess, I've been having migraines, queeziness and dizzyness. My Dr, a naturopathic :D, has done all the tests for stroke, heart attack (my bp is about 120/80 on average. I've had a CT scan of my head to look for maybe a tumor but they didn't find anything wrong. So, today was the MRI. Now the waiting begins for the results. I'm on the voluptuous side of the spectrum but I try to eat as healthy as possible. Organic as the finances allow. Does anyone have any advice of what else I can try to figure out what's going on?? Please let me know. Thank you

Sounds like you had quite an amazing time in Costa Rica!! I'm completely ready for a technotox!! Nature is so intrinsically restorative...getting away from the daily grind to spend time in a relaxing place does wonders for the mind, body & soul. My resolution is to study and practice yoga this year...and I am glad to say I will be adding technotox to the list.
This year will be a great year but it will be filled with obstacles. Life is all about the choices you make each and every day. I believe that your thoughts manifest themselves in your present and future -- think positively and great things will happen!!

Hang in there girl... I went thru the exact thing your going thru now when I was 21, and living with 2 room-mates who used to tease me about the weird food I ate, and the weight I had lost.(am 6'4" and went down to 140lbs)

After a while, I learned to not 'react' to what they were saying, but rather 'respond'. It was tough in the beginning, but after a while, I became more confident in the changes I had made and the choices I was making.

Funny thing was, in the 2-3 years I was eating all the weird food, they were sick 3-4x's a year with Flu, colds, etc...... I wasn't sick once.

Change can be rough... stay the course... and remember to breathe... and write in Kris's Blog when you need support !

all the best,

Clint

Hi Deb,
I just wanted to fill you in, my very good friend and brilliant doc says that swollen lymph nodes/glands are very normal and if they hurt, it's okay. It's when they don't hurt that we need to investigate further. I am a Lymphoma survivor and I just about freaked out everytime I had what I thought was a large or sore lymph node, turns out, the more we touch it and feel it the more swollen it gets!! I send you lots of love and healing:)

Love,

Joy
p.s. I do wheat grass everyday, just 2oz and I'm 85% raw, it really does work!!!:):)

Hi Joy
Well they do hurt and so does my throat on the left side only... wierd! However, my exercise class instructor is sick, one of my friends and my sister so it is probably me fighting off something.
Ever since I went raw colds are very different, no mucos, no cough, it is hard to tell what it is!
Thanks, you made my day!

Sound like you need support and you can get it online.

Try Daily Strength (do google search for this) and giveittomeraw.com to start.

Oh course you will never find a better group than right here:)

Becky -

I too suffer from autoimmune disease and had a hysterectomy 3 years ago. I started to become a "health nut" about 6 months ago, after relying on traditional medicine for the past 10 years and never getting any better. This is the right place to be. Everyone here is so supportive and will never make you feel bad about the choices you are making to heal yourself. This week my mother compared me to some "hippy freak" (her words), that hasn't washed her hair in 10 years and makes her own organic clothes. She actually said to me, "promise me you won't go that far. Promise me you won't turn into that!" Needless to say I have been pretty down the last couple of days. It's hard when you don't have the support of your family. The good news is that we are now a part of your family if you want us to be, and we will always support you. It feels good to come here and get the support you need, but it feels even better to give it to someone.

Callie - I know you have a scan tomarrow. I just want to let you know I'll be with you in spirit and celebrating with you when it comes back good!

kris... i read your ozone comment. can you please elaborate on brian clements ozone opinion. i was just thinking that if i went only for the 3wk course and not the 9wk health educator program i could use the extra money that i will save to purchase my own ozone mchn. what better then to totally detox and then keep feeding the cells what they thrive on... oxygen.
