I'm done with book 2!

OH MY GODDESS! My fingers are bleeding and I'm in a pile but I'm finished with my first draft. Pressed send on 130 plus pages (which I had one month to write) at 11:45 pm this evening. Thank you all for your prayers dear ones! Thank you, thank you. Have an amazing holiday.

PS. I sorta need a canSer free zone for a few days. Can we talk about ponnies or war or mutual funds?

PSS. Check out the original cowgirl boots in the top right corner of pix #1. Those were mine as a wee one. I loved chocolate brown even back then - classy. LOL!

Whirled peas and an elegant glass of organic champagne,
Kris

Cancer free zone it is.. how in the hell do you do it girlfriend. I am trying so hard to keep my plates spinning and the deadlines are killing me. First the I documentaries to edit then the Grants to write. You rock. I am such a deadline person but holy moly batgirl.. I cannot wait until the world conforms to me hahahahaa and everyone else is a schedule person too. The Mission is closed now. And it is quiet for xmas. Lonely but in a agood way.. all my little buddies are on thier own and where sent out of the nest with apartments and nurses.. And now for change.. I am not so good with change taurus' move slow but get it done.. haha.. So now my change I am global and know that I deserve this sucess and know that I am ready but I am scared to.. in a good day before school starts way. Jan 2 is right around the corner.. So I have to breath re-boot and relax.. my life is fixin' to be played out on a bigger stage and it freaks me out.. haha.. Liek you I have my firsts.. I have my Balletslippers all worn out and torn and danced on in the corner of my desk and then the flowers from my first date with ol dunc where he asked me to marry him all day and delicae. More lovely today. I want you to know why I am swinging from one thought branch to the next how much of a blessing you have been to me this year. Thank you I felt like I had someone holding my hand while I was being bron anew..that could understand the new ness of it all. I hope in the coming year you have all your dreams come true. I hope you and Brian are happy and love more than you ever have and I pray that life is abudant and forever joyful and full of sunshine and spring flowers. Much love from Duncan, Saatchi and Callie...and the new and global basic missions crew...

Congratulations on meeting your deadline, Kris! I am a magazine editor who has heard nothing but pleas for extensions from writers this week, so to hear you met your deadline warms my editor heart.

Congrats! How did you do that? I don't think I could write 130 pages in a month and I'm a struggling writer. I'm in college so time is very limited.

Of course you can! It is your blog, you can blog about anything. How about the holidays?

Also, to help you relax, check out Lush.com. They have *AMAZING* handmade cosmetics that are all natural (no joke!). Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays depending on which everyone prefers. Kris, I'm so excited you finished your book draft. What an accomplishment! I just finished your first book right when you finished your book number 2 draft. So I'm totally looking forward to this next book. Thanks for the gift that you are. Now I hope you can relax and celebrate, spend time with the ones you love, and just be what you need to for yourself. So many blessings, you are all gorgeous!

Kris -

Way to go girl! Now that you are done, I hope you are able to catch up on anything you've been missing. I'm just exhausted from the Christmas deadline, so I can't imagine trying to finish a book on top of it. You are my idol. I hope that you got everything you wanted for Christmas and more!

I got a breville juicer for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't juice or smoothie yesterday, and ate crappy food for the last couple of days, and boy can I tell the difference. I used the breville this morning, and although my Hamilton Beach served it's purpose, and got me juicing, the Breville is much easier to clean. Especially since I don't have a dishwasher.

Hope everyone had a very special Christmas!!!!! Love you guys

Kris,

I know (second hand) what it REALLY takes to finish a book. My husband's most recent (Warning. Blatant plug imminent), "Living Your Unlived Life," was such a lovely ordeal. As if it's not enough to give your soul to the book for months (okay, in your case weeks). Because along with the deadlines comes the endless edits, approval of cover art, galley proofs, printing, and then the work really begins, with the book tour, radio, tv and print interviews, and having to sign your name a bazillion times (and probably hear twenty bazillion canser stories to boot). Drink those greens, girl, and build yourself up. But first, prop up your feet and reeeelaaaax.

I'm very excited to buy the next book, Kris. Thank you for all your hard work and creative juice. I truly appreciate it.

So, good going girl.

Kris, new to your blog but not to your accomplishments! Loved your documentary, watched it twice. Read most of the comments from others, nice to hear from like-minded people. I'm a vegetarian, sometimes raw (enjoy Natalia Rose's book), like Bikram yoga, am a doctor of Pharmacy (don't like drugs much, too many side effects), believe diet & exercise are most important. Looking forward to hearing what's going on with everything! Congrats on the book.

Congrats on finishing your book! I posted a comment in your last entry about "Good Mood Foods." It's a list everyone can look at until you put yours together (again!) Sorry that happened but I hope you all find the info helpful, it's all about delicious food that will alleviate depression.

Hi all,

One thing I am noticing with the advent of the New Year, is the assumption by those near and dear to me that I'm "happy to have this year over with." I certainly understand where they are coming from, but, much to my surprise, I'm not so sure I agree.
Diagnosed in 2/07 with stage IV colon cancer, mets to liver. 2 surgeries. 2 rounds of chemo. Fatigue, grouchiness, frustration, hair loss, general uncertainty. Not to mentioned a 50th birthday!

YET, also: awareness of the wonders around me, appreciation for my adult children, realization that , if I do have a limited time left, there's really not to much in my life I would change. How many people can say that? Toss in a trip to Italy with my mom and sister in between chemo rounds and seeing Sting (who I refer to as my next husband) and the Police at Fenway Park and life seems Damn Good. Dinners with friends are vital. Laughing is imperative. Realization that there really are very very very few things to get crazy about.
Of course, I'd rather not have cancer. I'd rather not have experienced chemotherapy. I'd rather not have met my oncologist (who is kick-ass, makes me laugh, totally gets me). I'd rather not have a railroad yard of scars on my stomach.
But, not have had the year i've had?? Not so sure.
Cheryl
