Crazy Sexy Oprah

I have been soooo patient but now that the word is out - by the Queen herself - it's safe for me to spill the (sprouted) beans. I will be on Oprah this Monday the 22nd. Please tune in if you can. It was one of the wildest experiences of my life, out-of-body to be exact. Also on the show is the VERY wise and inspirational professor Randy Pausch and the AWESOME Dr. Mehmet Oz. Randy is a teacher, and I mean that in a very spiritual way. As I said, he is a professor but his knowledge runs to the central vein of the human spirit. Listen to him, he may not be with us long.....

It is intense, so be prepared, move through the hard stuff and see that this is all just life stuff and sometimes it is messy and sad but O the nuggets. You've heard me say it before, life is a terminal condition - we just know a little bit more than most. We, being canSer babes and chaps OR anyone struggling - Ok ALL of us!

This show is about living FULLY. I hope you are inspired. I have no idea what I said, hopefully I wasn't Bambie in the headlights! My recollections come in waves and so far my memories haven't made me cringe! Mehmet RULES, end of story. He is a juice lover too and such a cool doctor, ya don't find many as open and knowledgeable about holistic health. He is a great resource for us all. Also lady O hugs like no other. She hugs like she means it. WE ALL SHOULD. She really connects, with pure power, whoop ass, compassion and MOTHER. I melted into her dress and didn't want to leave.

Thanks so much to all of you that post on this blog regularly. You are the bedrock of this growing CSC revolution. To be honest, you keep me going and grounded. Prayer beads and tiaras to that!

Guess what? The kick ass resource page will be ready this weekend (with product links too!) and my web designer informed me yesterday that we should have the forum up and running within a few weeks! Oh yeah, oh yeah!

Peace & Veggies loves,
Kris

PS. Because of Oprah, TLC has moved the air date to this WEDNESDAY - 10/24 - NOT halloween. It will NOT air on spookie ghost day! Mark your calendars and spread the word.

PSS. I use to write in my journal on a regular basis about appearing on this show. Manifest your dreams women and men, everything is possible. Intention is a ball of white fire lotus love! It is just waiting for you and it really wants to say YES. xo

I just wanted to stop by and say HI! I watched what I could of your show last week (my husband was watching one of his programs), but I came across it again this past weekend. My 17 year old daughter sat down and watched it with me (there was a segment with a woman who had breast cancer). I have been telling my girls to do SBE ever since they started developing breasts and I sneak the little how to signs from the Dr’s office on their shower head every time I come across one. They just roll their eyes and go on about their business, but something about your show must have spoken to my daughter. She did her first self breast exam (and found a lump, 1 ½ centimeters) this past Tuesday, I have already taken her to the Doctor’s and she is scheduled for a Mammogram and an ultra-sound next week. Hopefully it will just be a cyst, but because of your show she will continue to do SBE for the rest of her life.

I am a current Cancer survivor myself, Acute Myeloid Leukemia I was diagnosed September 28, 2005 at 33 years old. It is a tough road, but there are so many lessons that I have learned because of it, I don’t think I would’ve changed a thing.

Keep up the great work!!

I read your book, saw the film and can't wait for Oprah's show! You are truly an inspiration for all. I guess you could say I have become a "Kris Carr junkie", but all in a good way. I am an educator for a natural health company that distributes natural, plant-based enzymes, your "tip no.52". I am able to share your story with many that already know the benefits of your lifestyle tips. The most WONDERFULLY AWESOME thing is that you have gotten this message out to many that never would have considered a "wheat grass chaser" or a "pipe declog". Kudos to you...the best is yet to come!!!

Hey there! I am so excited to see you on Oprah and the earlier airing of your show! It was uncanny how I came upon your show the first time...just about one year since my diagnosis. I missed the beginning, but was rapt with attention. I am off to investigate juicers. Will let you know my findings. Also, what of apple cider vinegar and alkalinity? I read many moons ago that it helps, but had forgotten all about it until I heard you speak of the importance of alkalinity.
Well, take care and keep smiling!
Many blessings,

For the last week I have been referring to you as "the woman who is inspiring me." I had my first fever related incident last night half way to NYC and we had to turn around, go to the hospital and get checked (101 degrees is the magic number and I was close to 102). All was well. Blood count fine (I had a shot of Nuelasta -white blood booster last week post-chemo so my count was actually high but more than likely due to that), urine fine, chest exray fine etc. I got to go home. They said more than likely I had picked something up from somewhere. I had wheat juice cubes with fresh blueberry in my mixer this morning. I take vitamins. Am I just missing the rest part? I am a little bit scared right now. Anyway, if anyone has any similar things happen to them, etc. I'd love a pep talk.

Hey Macintosh girl !

Looking for a juicer still ? Get the Rolls Royce of Juicers.... the Norwalk Juicer.

http://www.nwjcal.com/

I have used this before, and it is supposed to have the best nutritional value. Norwalk Juicer quickly grinds and presses. Fresh pressed juices are loaded with fresh enzymes and nutrients. The Norwalk juicer gives you 50-100% more juice containing 3-5 times the vitamins and minerals than juice from other machines.

Better tasting juice with no oxidation! All fruits and vegetables including difficult greens like parsley and wheat grass easily produce juice with the Norwalk Juicer. Takes less time and you get more juice! Dr Walker's famous hydraulic press juicer was first built in the USA in 1934.

And it AIN'y Cheap !

Rock on Kris,

Clint

Kris,

You entered my life quite serendipitously (is that a word?)! When the first airing of CSC was on i only caught the last 30 minutes, purly by chance. I was drawn to it and was so upset that TLC had no plans to air it again:(

I checked out you website and thought, hmmm, maybe i should check out the book she wrote. While browsing Barnes & Noble on 3, yes 3, separate occasions i thumbed though the book and couldn't quite bring myself to buy it. Why? Well, i don't have cancer and thought why do i need to know cancer tips? But i was compelled to buy it on that third time....and i figured it was pretty unfair to read the whole thing at B&N!

Your book is such an inspiration to all!!! I know i don't belong in the cancer club and don't fully know or understand what that's like, but i can tell you that i found so much inspiration in your book. I'm moved by your take on life, love, family, health, positivity, energy, humor and manifestation.

You understand that we all have issues. And while mine aren't cancer, they are real to me as i'm sure cancer is to you. Your advice moved me to take my own "issues" and still strive to make life an amazing adventure.

My only question to you is.....when are you coming out with the book, "Crazy, Sexy Tips for Life In General". It would be great to hear more of your insights and reach even more people with your message.

Rock on, and...thanks! Can't wait to see Oprah tomorrow!

Love,
Julie

Linda said...

Kris - I couldn't agree more with what Julie said above. You have touched SO many people...not only those battling a cancer diagnosis...but people like myself who are lucky enough to be disease-free and have been taking our good fortune for granted. And, like Julie, found myself reading your book in Borders, and found myself so motivated by it that I purchased it. YOU ARE AN AMAZING SOUL WITH AN INCREDIBLE SPIRIT! I don't know if you realize just how many of us out here have been touched by your "sitch" and your attitude toward life, love, happiness and LIVING! THANK YOU for getting the message of LIFE out there, and hitting the power button on so many of us! I pulled out my juicer last week (for the first time in years!) and thanks to you, have moved on to gorgeous green breakfasts!

Oh, btw...about a comment you left the other day...I was a java junkie too...I gave it up a few years ago for green tea...eventually started mixing decaf green with herbals...nothing about coffee does it for me anymore...and for the last 3 days, it's been nothing but juices for breakfast, so I think I've even put the tea beast to bed (my dentist will be thrilled! lol). A slow decline from coffee to green to herbal definitely works!

Oh, and I almost forgot, you were crazy sexy wonderful on Oprah!!

Rock on my green queen!

Hi Kris!

I saw you today on Oprah and I just HAD to write you. I think that everyone, healthy or not, can (and should) learn from you. I really wanted to write to you because I was hoping you could share with me a little. Here is why....I am a 26 year old woman-I love to be active and outside..I love life! This past year has been sort of tough though. My story is nothing like yours but I really believe in the power of the mind, and the healing that we can bring to our bodies through food and excersize. I believe all of that but I dont know what I should be doing. I was hoping that you could tell me the specifics about your diet, yoga (Ive never done yoga!)--basically the things that you have found healing. Any resources would help because I am starting from scratch!

About a week ago I found out I have a serious arrhythmia. I have always known something was wrong but when I would go to the doctor they would say your young! Your healthy! Its just a normal PVC-everyone gets those! So I stopped going to the doctor because I felt silly for 'overreacting'. My symptoms became worse recently which is why they were able to catch the problem finally on an EKG. There are a couple of surgeries that I can have to help things but I want to give my body the best fighting chance it can have! Heart disease runs in my family-but I think I can avoid that! I want my heart to be healthy arrhythmia or not! I am so thankful that this is caught because if I would have never have gone back to the doctor for it-I would die. I could have died suddenly or in 10 years or so from a weakened heart. I am at the beginning of all this but I want to equip myself.

I bawled my eyes out watching you today. You have such strength and determination to heal. I believe you will. I am going to pray for you everday-I believe you will heal. You are on to something. I truly believe that. I think everyone can benefit from the lifestyle you live. I think what you are doing can heal-and I think that for those that are healthy...what you are doing can keep them healthy! I know our situations are so extremely different. I dont pretend to know what you have gone through, or what you face. I hope I haven't offended you in any way by writing. I just see that even though your situation is so different from mine, so much more serious....I know that I could learn so much from you. I told my husband about you and he was like "well....lets get going! lets get a juicer!" --I just dont know what to juice! I am clueless about this sort of thing-but I want to change in this area and give my body a leg up by what I am putting into it!

I hope you can write back to me. I know you have a bajillion things going on-so its ok if you dont. I wish you the absolute best! Thank you so much!

Jessica

I loved you on the Oprah show. On my Flickr account I shared my experience with Turmeric with a breast cancer
survivor whose cancer had come back.
I have used Turmeric daily (just right out of the spice jar) Just about an 1/8 of a teaspoon four times a day or sometimes a 1/4. It has cleared up a lesion on my tongue. It has lowered my blood sugar. I am not putting it on my husbands tongue as he has a taste bud that is enlarged and they are thinking of doing a biopsy. I have read it can stop cancer from spreading. The only caution is it does thin the blood and can cause gall bladder problems in some. So far, I have none of this. But, I swear it has thinned my hair out. Maybe it is a natural chemo. My own quote is. " Life is just a journey home once you find your path." I am trying to be in the moment each day. A sunset, a sunrise. Enjoy, experience. Taste, and I hug complete strangers a lot.

Sparroweye said...

Oh, and I want to get one of those
juicers. My comment above should have said, I am "now" putting it on a lesion on my husbands tongue to see if it will heal it. It worked for me.

I thought you were incredible on Oprah! Everything you said made me think about my life differently - especially the way that you are totally taking charge of your own health (how come we seem to assume we don't have the right to do that?!).

I've read through your archives, and I've placed an order for your book, but I just thought I'd comment here and see whether you could talk a little bit more about the things you've mentioned in passing on this blog, such as food combining and eating more alkaline, etc. I completely believe in what you're saying...I just don't know where to start.

Can't wait to watch your film :)

You were great on Oprah! Even though I am not facing cancer or a "terminal" diagnosis, your comment about worrying is praying for what we don't want hit home for me. I am not a big worrier, but we all have little worries that creep up from time to time. Now when those worries creep up I have a mantra with which to beat them down.

I wish you much love, strength & happiness!

Hey KRIS....JUST watching you on Oprah!
Listen, you ROCK, and it looks like you're doing Photography! I do too, I've been a Pro in Canada for 16 years! I'm so glad you're having fun with that.
Now, my Mum told me once about a guy who was on tubes in the hospital and his wife asked the DR.'s permission to try this tea called ESSIAC, you can find it on Google.
How it came to be is an amazing story.
The Doc's said there was nothing they could do for her hubby so she should go ahead and fill her boot.
Months later she WALKED him out of hospital.
This is an old, Ojibway Indian medicine and it's freely available in Health Food Stores....you DO know about those, right?? ;>)
Anyhow, mee wee Mum mad a habit of giving her big book on Essiac to people she knew who had Cancer.
Of the 12 she knew 6 of them, said ...
"oh no, I'd have to clear that with my Doctor.."
And Dr'.s don't believe in that stuff.
The 6 of them that said "Absolutely I'd give it a try..." Are all alive and well.
As for the rest?
She managed to make 4 of the 6 funerals.
You're one special lady.
PLEASE look into this, OK?
ESSIAC.
I'm always there if you need Photo advice, too.
My very best to you,

I just finished watching the show. Great Job! You are a beautiful girl, and your internal beauty shines! I always enjoy watching you and seeing your zest for life. Thanks for being a good role model, when there are so few. I wish you the best in your marriage and your life. Oh yeah, you rocked the trapeze!

Hi Kris,
When I saw Crazy Sexy Cancer a few months ago I connected with your story so much. We share many of the same experiences and I have too much to say in such little room. I am Alma, a life lover, a seeker of knowledge. I live every day with a lung disease and I am a lung cancer survivor. I celebrate life everyday and I play volleyball, work out and recently started jogging with an oxygen pack on my waist that I call my tail. I invite you and anyone reading this to please check out my blog if you can. Kris keep doing what you are doing, you are very inspiring and you are delivering a great message. I will join you one day and we can both deliver our message to "live life" together. Cheers (clanking green drinks),
Alma

Kris, OMFG. I just wanted to jump and tell you right away about the CURE. You have TWO existing NATURAL comprehensive cures out there. I'm a Medical Researcher and please PLEASE google "IP6" and "Beta Glucan" - They are both natural compounds that have been isolated and used by the Japanese scientists for 30 years now. I also went to the Veggie Juice route before but you HAVE to get the ISOLATED compounds from them and take them in copious amounts. There are 3 brands that are ethically producing these compounds, search for NOW Foods, Jarrow, or Transfer Point to purchase these products. PLEASE! I'll get back to you. Thanks!

I just saw you on Oprah and, WOW, I like your attitude. I have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (Dec 06). I ditched traditional medicine after seven months on interferons. I was being crippled one shot at a time. Then I found low dose naltrexone. It is making big changes in a lot of peoples' lives. I hope you have heard of it. And I pray that you are trying it.

Hi Kris! I saw you on Oprah and I gotta say, I was very touched and inspired by you and Randy. Had a lump in my throat through out the entire show and a smile on my face at the same time.
I tuned in accidently and am I glad I did. I love your sense of humor, your optimism and your ablity to be so true to your self, in the good times and in the bad.
Your husband is a very lucky man to have found you among the billions of women out in the world. It didn't take long before I wondered as I watched the show if that sexy girl is married. You answered minutes later. I wish you and your husband a long and happy life together. What a powerful, woman you're. I can't wait to read your book and watch your documentary! And I will definitely share you with family and friends. You're an inspiration. . .

Kris,

I watched our lady O yesterday. I thought I'd put it on whilst I did some stuff around the house. BOY was I wrong. I sat there, still, not moving a muscle and totally trans-fixed.
As far as I know I don't have cancer or indeed, any other terminal illness. I have suffered from clinical depression since my teens (now 37) and have not been, for some time now 'living' my life. Because of you that will now change, better late than never right;-)
Myself, my husband and our 2 off spring THANK you!
We thank you for being an inspiration.
We thank you for living.
And above all, we thank you for sharing!

May the wonderfully crazy, sexy sisters of fate be with you.

Even thought I have seen the doc twice, read the book and have been coming here since the beginning, I still sat there crying. You are such an amazing person. Even though I am still new to this canSer game (5 months) I am trying to learn to 'live'. What an inspiration you are, you rock cowgirl!!!!

This is my first visit to your blog. When your documentary first came out on TLC I sat, mezmerized. They showed it twice in a row. I watched both. Having an ailment which changes your life can be a lonely road, I speak from experience.
I was very excited to see you on Oprah yesterday. You exude a desire for life that is inspirational. You've stood up and empowered others to take control of their health, and of their lives. Thank you.

I must say I loved seeing you on Oprah. I had heard of your book but have not yet read it. My sister-in-law died in May at the age 26 of Ewings Sarcoma. She found out in January of this year and died 4 months later. I am so happy for you that you are able to live your life still and do things as though your beauty marks arent there! I wish you all the luck in the world and will keep you in my prayers. Heidi*

PS. I loved your dress...where can I find one?? :)

I am encouraging all the readers of my blog to watch today's Oprah Show with Kris Carr. I think it is important for all of us interested in glaucoma (patients, doctors, family members - all of us) to watch the segment of the show with Kris Carr. I share the reasons why Kris's message applies equally to glaucoma in my blog post here:

Hi Kris,
I recently saw you on Oprah here in Brazil.
It was such an inspirational programme that I came to the net to find out more and found your blog.
Isn't it amazing how you can influence lives even in places you have never even been to?
I watched the show with my mother- cancer survivor- and we laughed and cried.
It was beautiful as you are beautiful.
